Dorado Beach Resort & Country Club has four 18 hole par 72 courses. However two of them are part of The Plantation Club, the two we will mention here are the East Course and the West Course.
Both the East and West Courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr and opened as 9 hole courses in 1958. When 1966 rolled around both of these courses had been upgraded to 18 holes. These courses both posses oceanfront property which adds to their appeal.
The East Course was just recently renovated by the son of Robert Trent Jones Sr., Robert Trent Jones Jr., and has reopened for play. The renovation of the course did not see major alterations from the original design.
The West Course was renovated in 2002 by The Raymond Floyd Group, but also maintained the original Robert Trent Jones Sr design.
The Dorado Beach Resort & Country Club is the largest golf complex in Puerto Rico with four 18 hole courses on their property. They have the East and West Courses and also The Plantation Club’s Sugarcane and Pineapple courses. Having four courses, Dorado Beach Resort & Country Club doubles the number of courses of the next largest golf club in Puerto Rico.
