Crash Boat – Surf Spot in Aguadilla

Crash Boat Beach in Aguadilla Puerto Rico is known best for being a surfing and bodyboarding spot even though it is not an extremely consistent surf spot compared to the surrounding area.  It requires a large swell to wrap around into the Aguadilla Bay area. On good surf days the crowds are huge, but the wave is worth it.

The irony of Crash Boat Beach is that the pier / dock was originally built for fishing boats to dock there.  Unfortunately, Mother Nature had different plans for this spot.  Local currents dropped tons of sand into the beach and pier area making it impossible to dock a boat at the pier.  Instead the sand created a great surf spot.

Beyond surfing Crash Boat Beach is a very popular spot for locals and tourists looking to go out snorkeling and swimming on days where there isn’t big surf.  There is plenty of parking and the beach is easy to find.  It quite possibly has more signs on the roads directing you there than any other beach in Puerto Rico.  We still included, not just the mapped location, but also the route is drawn out on our map.
